Away with the fairies

Cabling off to annual leave

Yay for a week of annual leave, even if it is only three working days since I changed jobs! But what a crazy hectic three days they have been, on call, seeing all sorts of trauma and surgery. So some cathartic knitting for the train. A little romper suit in hand dyed yarn. Been ages since I last knitted something truly cabled, but this pattern is so cute, and long ago memorised that it's knitting up quite fast despite the 4ply yarn!

Baby knitting

A while ago, a friend asked me to knit her pregnant daughter some baby cardis. I've now finished this little pile, and not a moment too soon as the baby in question is now a couple of weeks old. I also made a special surprise - a big delicate lace shawl as a very special thank you to a very dear friend. I'm seeing her tomorrow, and I can't wait to see her reaction.
